I've never tried making fondant before, but this Christmas my goal is to basically make my body weight in cupcakes and then try frosting them more professionally and shipping them to friends in other states. I know fondant is the better bet for shipping, plus it looks so lovely in shapes. Does anybody have any advice for starting out with fondant and/or links to pretty designs and how-to guides? I'm especially interested in making little snowflakes in white and then sprinkling powdered sugar on top like snow. Is fondant solid enough to press the shapes with a tiny cookie cutter?
Any advice is appreciated!
(Also I live in Florida, and despite the cold, it's still kinda humid. Does this matter? Should I change the recipe at all?)

Another Fondant Noob
I know little about fondant myself, but I've seen it worked with and if I'm not mistaken, it is indeed cookie-cutter friendly. However, I'm pretty sure the humidity will require some sort of modification... I'm just not knowledgeable enough to tell you what sort of modification :/
